SleepKit

SleepKit Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SleepKit handles information when you use the SleepKit app or this website. SleepKit is a sleep and wellness app; it is not a medical service.

Health data

With your permission, SleepKit reads the following data from Apple Health: sleep analysis and stages, heart rate, heart-rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, sleeping wrist temperature, and workout data. It uses this information to calculate and show your sleep rings, overnight measurements, and trends.

SleepKit has read-only access: it does not write, alter, or delete Apple Health data. Your raw Apple Health data is processed and retained on your device. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or send it to advertising networks or data brokers. You can change or revoke SleepKit's Apple Health permissions at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.

Information stored on your device

SleepKit stores the information needed to provide the app locally on your device. This includes your computed sleep data, app preferences, optional notes and tags, cached Friends information, and an optional profile photo.

Friends and account information

The core sleep experience does not require an account. If you choose to use Friends, you sign in with Apple and create a profile. Supabase hosts the account, profile, avatar, friend connections, and invite codes needed for that feature.

When Friends sharing is enabled, SleepKit sends your display name, profile photo, the date of your latest sleep, and the three derived ring percentages (duration, consistency, and quality) to the Friends service. It also sends your latest sleep duration so connected friends can see it only until the end of your local sleep day. Turning sharing off removes your current shared sleep snapshot. Friends do not receive your raw Apple Health data, sleep history, sleep stages, overnight measurements, notes, or aggregate health scores.

You can delete your Friends account from Profile in the app. This removes the server-side account data used by Friends. It does not delete your Apple Health data or the local information stored on your device.

Product analytics

SleepKit uses Amplitude to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Amplitude receives app-interaction events, such as screens and tabs viewed, selected trend ranges, onboarding progress, and paywall or subscription actions. The analytics SDK may also receive technical information such as an app and device identifier, device and operating system details, app version, IP-address-derived coarse location, and network information. If you sign in, SleepKit associates these analytics events with your SleepKit account identifier.

SleepKit does not send raw Apple Health readings, sleep-stage data, or health measurements to Amplitude. We use analytics for product analysis, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. See the Amplitude Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions and purchases

SleepKit uses RevenueCat to provide subscription offerings, confirm purchases, restore purchases, and determine access to SleepKit Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier until you sign in; when you sign in, SleepKit may associate that identifier with your SleepKit account identifier. RevenueCat also receives subscription and App Store receipt information, along with technical information needed to provide the service. Where available, the app enables Apple AdServices attribution-token collection for RevenueCat.

Apple processes App Store payments. SleepKit does not receive your full payment-card or bank details. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and Apple Privacy Policy.

How we use and share information

We use information to run and improve SleepKit, provide the Friends and subscription features you choose, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. We share information only with the service providers described above, with friends you choose to connect with, or when required by law. We do not sell personal information or use HealthKit data for advertising.

Retention, security, and your choices

We keep server-side information only for as long as needed to provide the relevant feature, comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use the protections provided by our service providers and limit collection to what the app needs.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request or ask a privacy question, email iosapps+sleepkit@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SleepKit changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the date below.
